In Miami, President Donald Trump was met with enthusiastic applause and cheers from a packed crowd at a UFC event on Saturday night. As he made his entrance, supporters waved his iconic MAGA hats, and he exchanged greetings with podcast host Joe Rogan, who was seated nearby.
Next to Trump was Elon Musk, the billionaire known for his role in government efficiency. Dressed in a dark suit complemented by a vibrant yellow tie, Trump raised his fist in celebration, energizing the audience as the music of 'Taking Care of Business' played.
Accompanying him were several key figures from his administration, including Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., FBI Director Kash Patel, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, along with White House communications aides Steven Cheung and Taylor Budowich.
Senator Marco Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz were also present at UFC 314, adding to the star-studded atmosphere.
Trump entered the venue alongside UFC President Dana White, a long-time friend, and his granddaughter, Kai Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr.
Throughout the event, the jumbotron frequently showcased Trump, eliciting loud cheers from the audience. The crowd chanted 'USA,' and Trump even stood to dance to the Village People’s 'YMCA,' further igniting the excitement.
During the matches, he interacted with fans and engaged in conversations with Musk, who occasionally had his son on his shoulders.
Despite the lively atmosphere, Trump mostly remained seated, acknowledging fighters who approached him.
A known fan of UFC and sports in general, this marked Trump's first UFC appearance since taking office in January. This event followed his attendance at a Saudi-sponsored LIV golf tournament at his Miami golf club.
His sports enthusiasm is evident, having also attended the Super Bowl and the Daytona 500 since assuming the presidency. Last November, he was seen cageside at a UFC championship fight in New York City shortly after winning the 2024 election.
The main event of UFC 314 featured a championship fight between former Australian champion Alexander Volkanovski and Brazilian contender Diego Lopes, competing for the featherweight title.
This was the fourth UFC event held in Miami, a region that supported Trump by a margin of approximately 11 percentage points in the recent election.
Trump arrived in West Palm Beach on Friday for his tenth visit to South Florida, spending the night at his Mar-a-Lago estate before heading to Miami after a round of golf.
On Air Force One, Trump remarked to reporters, 'You know who’s going to win? Dana White. Dana White’s gonna win.' His close ties to UFC have significantly bolstered his 2024 presidential campaign, particularly among younger male voters, where he has emphasized hypermasculine themes.
